Every child deserves to leave home safely and return home safely.
Recent reports of children going missing across the country have reminded us of a simple truth: Child safety is everyone's responsibility.
Kinga Mtoto is a national movement that brings together families, schools, communities, media, businesses, faith institutions and government to help keep children safe.
Every member of the community can help protect children through these three simple but powerful actions.
Encourage children to walk to and from school in pairs or groups whenever possible.
"No child should walk alone when they can walk together."
Stay alert to children who may be vulnerable, lost, distressed or at risk.
"A caring community protects its children."
Act early. Report concerns before they become emergencies.
"A stitch in time saves nine — speak up, save a child."
The Kinga Mtoto Safety Tag is a reflective school bag tag designed to promote child safety awareness and visibility. Attached to a child's school bag, the tag serves as a daily reminder that protecting children is a shared responsibility.
